Selection and Usage Notes
- Metal-cased or double-lip wipers give better protection in very dirty conditions.
- A damaged wiper lets dirt in and quickly wears the rod seal and rod; replacing them together is recommended.
- Clean the housing and seat the wiper without distorting it.

The first value is the housing (groove) height and the second is the overall height of the wiper.
When should a metal-cased wiper be chosen?
For cylinders whose housing is machined for a press fit, and for very dirty operating conditions.
